The Sims 4: Lovestruck is the first love-themed pack we’ve seen since Hot Date, and has a heavy emphasis on expanding romance and relationship dynamics . It can be a difficult pack to describe since many of the gameplay features are enhancements to existing systems. However, we’ll be breaking down the features as best we can to offer you an overview of all it has to offer.

The build and buy items here are extensive yet surprisingly niche. They’ve been collected into categories where possible and with a focus on showcasing the variety of both items and swatches, since most have at least a dozen color variants. We also offer an overview of create a sim as well as a summary of the pack’s main gameplay features.
Exterior Essentials
Windows, Doors, Archways, Stairs, And Railings
One of the most represented types of build item in this pack is exterior essentials, with both doors and windows getting a number of additions. Alongside these are a set of new steps, two column designs, and a matching fence, spandrel and railing with ten color swatches.
All the doors and windows in this pack are designed for the lowest wall height.
There are eight different doors, many of which are suitable for both interior and exterior use and one of which is a double glass sliding door designed to help create custom shower cubicles. These are accompanied by both a wide and narrow archway.
There are also 11 types of windows, mostly fitting into two distinct styles and covering different heights and widths. There’s also a plain window to match the shower cubicle doors.
Decorating Basics
Walls And Floors
Your walls and floors are also well covered with a range of new designs. There are six types of flooring: an animal print pattern, a marble design with customizable lined patterns, terracotta tiles both with and without a small mosaic, a set of small square tiles, and vine patterned flooring. Most have multiple uses and match a range of existing walls.
Wall patterns are even more varied, with thirteen in total. Two interior and exterior wall swatches offer plain patterns in a range of colors, with the exterior walls also having a worn version and the interior having a version with visible wooden edging along the bottom.
Also included are pool edging designs for the small square and plain terracotta tiles, as well as a metal tiled roof with matching edging which are not pictured.
The terracotta tile designs and the small square tiles all have complimentary wall tiles, and there are also vine, reptile and animal patterned styles to round out the vibrant collection.
Furniture Focus
Beds, Canopies, Ottomans, Chairs, And Sofas
The beds in this pack are unique in some ways, since they are a little more customizable than usual. The first design is an unmade bed with no sheets and clutter underneath, something truly unique. There’s also a simple bed with a plain headboard, as well as the return of the vibrating bed.
The canopies are currently not tagged correctly in the catalog, but can be found by searching for and selecting canopy dreams and draped desires.
To compliment these designs are two styles of canopy that can be freely added or removed, a matching set of ottomons, a bedside table, two types of lamp and some candles.
Wall Decor
Decals, Artwork, And Mirrors
Decorating your walls also seems to be a large concern for this pack, which features nine sets of posters or decals, five lots of artwork, a tiled backsplash, and four different mirrors, although one of these is a variant of another with photos on it. There are also some theatrical-style curtains, as well as beaded options.

The decals are quite broad and range from a pop poster collage to food store branding. There’s also graffiti, urban artwork and fitness posters. However, the artwork is a little more cohesive with contemporary images of buildings, people and silhouettes alongside the now traditional small frame collage.
Two small mirrors, horizontal and vertical, round out the wall items, along with a large floor-to-ceiling mirror.
Interior Fixtures And Features
Lighting, Plants, Tables, And Misc Interior Items
At this point, the scattergun effect of these items comes more into focus. There are 16 types of lighting, including the lamps and candles previously mentioned. They also include three lengths of a can can fringe dual light, a large ceiling light, outdoor patterned lights on a pole, a spotlight and an exterior wall light. There’s also a neon fitness sign and several other neon light patterns.
There isn’t a wardrobe or dresser, but the costume trunk includes access to all in-game costumes (including job-related outfits and outfits from all other DLC) as well as your regular selection of clothing.
Plants are also well represented with three small plants in vases, a window box, an outdoor potted plant and four types of larger indoor/outdoor potted plant. There’s also a wall plant display and a hanging basket.
Further indoor items include two end tables, two coffee tables, a desk, a wall shower, a ceiling fan, ceiling beams and a treadmill and weight machine. Quite the combination!
Exteriors, Extras And Everything Else
Exterior Furniture, Bars, Blankets, And Assorted Clutter
The exterior furniture is also quite extensive in this pack. There are three styles of picnic rug, as well as a set of swings, a picnic bench, and a trash can. You’ll also find a mini water tower, awning, and a take-out grill and market stall for the entrepreneurs. Two widths of balcony and the Jacaranda tree round out this selection.
Bars are the most random inclusion, with four styles on offer, two of which include matching back bars. There are also some room dividers, awnings and a new janitor’s closet you can woohoo in to round out the selection of community lot focused objects.
You can now woohoo in the small sized closets from Get Together as well as the large ones.
The final items include a guitar, a playable party game, and a range of decorative clutter items. There’s also a house number decal, trash chute, trash can, wall fan, and a small fountain.
Female Costumes And Bedroom Outfits
Get Ready For Woohoo
The clothes in this pack can be split into two distinct categories: items you can wear on a date, and items you’d wear in the bedroom afterward. As always, the female outfits are most extensive. There are a range of new sexy costumes, including a firefighter, cupid, maid and peach, as well as some lingerie and nightwear options.
A couple of items that would make nice nightwear are also in here, as well as the more tame frilly sleep mask. The images above are some of the more risqué items, outside of the costumes. If anyone knows what the one on the left is, let me know.
Female Casual Clothes
Date Night Delights
The casual clothes have been designed with dates in mind. There are several short dresses, some casual trousers, a pant suit, a skirt, jeans and several tops. The tops include t-shirts, blouses, a jacket and a sweater. There are also some killer heels and a pair of sneakers.
The female clothing options are surprisingly extensive due to the mix and match nature of them, plus the unisex designs of others.
Several items can be mixed and matched and a number of them work well on both masculine and feminine framed Sims. Most are also fairly unique and there are a couple of niche items as well. You can create a good range of looks suitable for different date venues.
Male Costumes And Bedroom Outfits
Prepare For Briefs
The male outfits are every bit as skimpy as the female ones. They include chains, several pairs of shiny satin briefs, and some bow ties with no shirts. Some match female variations, and others can be used on all Sims with ease.

Masculine frames also have their own variants of several costumes, including firefighter, cupid and park ranger. Each one is tailored to their frame.
Male Casual Clothes
Surprisingly Versatile Options
Males have a lot of shirts, but the variety is welcomed. There are open to the waist shirts, patterned button-ups, shirts with jackets, a sports top and t-shirts. Some are unisex and some are masculine in shape.
Combined with a sweater and several pairs of trousers, they offer a small but versatile selection for all those hot dates. There are also some smart shoes, as well as sneakers.
New Hairstyles
Several Lengths And Some Unique Styles
There are also a few new hairstyles. A couple of long styles, a jaw length bob, a tied back option, two lots of shaved designs with patterns, and a couple of short styles, one with some length on top. They span several kinds of look and compliment the clothing well.
The hairs are the only thing compatible with younger sims, with child sims also able to use them.
All styles work well with different ages and genders, making them the most flexible part of the create a sim items.
Tattoos And Rings And Eyelashes, Oh My!
Alongside the usual clothing is a small selection of tattoos, for the back, neck and arms. There are also necklaces, earrings and some rings. The items are all casual and date items rather than big event items.
You’ll also find a couple of hats for the costumes, as well as a masquerade mask with several swatches to add finishing touches to a party outfit. Makeup wise, there are lashes, eyeshadow and lipstick options to further customize your date night look.
Ciudad Enamorada
A Whole New World
The new world of Ciudad Enamorada includes 13 lots over three neighborhoods. Only two are blank and the pre-built lots include a vacation rental, two penthouses, a gym, lounge, park and nightclub, as well as several houses.
The colourful world features some extensive open areas to explore, and the park in particular is far more extensive than the lot which houses its pavillion.
Cupid’s Corner And Dating Events
Find Your Soulmate
Sims who have yet to find their special someone can use the new Cupid’s Corner app on their phone or computer to set up a dating profile on the app. Take a photo, add a few details and find some matches.
You can use the app to add matches to your relationship bar so you can call them later, or you can invite them on a date straight away. There are also new social events to allow for getting to know dates, re-connection dates and romantic dates.
A singles spot lot trait means more chance of finding eligible sims in certain places, and of course, the new world has plenty of bars.
New Woohoo Spots And Deaths
Two Of Each, A Welcome Addition
There are also two new woohoo spots, a picnic blanket and a motel. There are three styles of picnic blanket, each with several swatches, and they can be placed inside and outside.
The motel costs 40 simoleons to woohoo at, making it the only woohoo spot that charges Sims for their fun.
Sims can also die from a broken heart if everything goes very badly in their dating life. Those who choose to comfort themselves with food may also die from choking.
Expansion Of Romantic Relationships
New Aspirations, Interactions, Turn On and Offs, A Career, And Counselling
There are two new romance aspirations, which help guide you through a number of new relationship options. They include customisable jealousy levels, editable relationship statuses and a large number of new social interactions in the flirty category. Sims can also cuddle in bed, share food, and enjoy other intimate interactions.
Sims in a bad relationship can seek counselling , and those who consider themselves an expert in fixing them can join the new career and counsel others.
Overall, a large amount of the gameplay is in how Sims interact romantically. The turn ons and turn offs, romantic boundaries, and interactions are the core of this pack and romance is its true focus so bear that in mind if you want to get lovestruck.
